The trick to having a gorgeous smile is to take care of any teeth that are rotated or out of line. If you have less-than-straight teeth, you have likely thought about making an appointment with an orthodontist. Gilbert dentist Fotolia_6702178_XS.jpg

When most people think of orthodontics, they immediately think of metal braces. If you're an adult, you probably don't want to be misidentified as your teenage daughter or son. If you're under the age of 20, you don't want braces either! However, crooked teeth must be realigned. You choose: you can get the braces and all the teasing or you can have invisible braces put on.

Invisalign braces are what these invisible braces are called and that's what the dentist loves to use as part of the Gilbert straighten teeth system. The braces cannot be seen. What a relief — especially for adults! Furthermore, you can remove them at any time at your whim. Instead of a silver band being crisscrossed around your teeth, a series of invisible aligners or retainers are put on the teeth. A computer helps to make each custom aligner. Every aligner is used for a couple of weeks and is exchanged for a brand new retainer that works to align for 14 days et cetera until your teeth are straight.

And another thing about these braces is that they can be used to fix any amount of teeth, from one to your whole mouth. You don't often see teeth that are all off in a corner by themselves. They come together to keep straight. If one of your teeth is missing, you end up with an empty space. That is why dentists do implants and crowns and bridges. These items are meant to fill in the open area so the other teeth in your mouth won't start to gravitate toward that hole. But if you leave a hole unattended in your mouth, your other teeth may start to travel. That's why it's great that you can use Invisalign on just those one or two teeth.
