When it comes to having a great smile, what concerns most people is how their teeth appear to others, mostly in terms of color. Ideally, they should be a nice shade of white. Gilbert dentist Fotolia_7138062_XS.jpg

You can whiten your teeth using a variety of systems, one of them being going to the store and purchasing commercial whiteners. When it comes to whitening, whether by a dentist or home product, there is bleaching involved. Along with bleaching, there are dentists who make use of lasers and lights to make teeth look whiter.

Bleaching can be a problem for some people who are sensitive to it. As such, it is the dentist's responsibility to be cautious about how much bleach is included in the whitening solution. With a good dentist, this should not be an issue because he would know how to avoid damaging the teeth.

Under the Gilbert whitening method, you will have no issues. Here, the dentist takes some specially made trays, fills them with the exact volume of bleach, and places the trays over your teeth. This is very safe because the bleach only washes over your teeth and the gums are left alone. There should never be any mixing between gums and bleach. The trays are very easy to fit on. It can be done in the dental office or you might want to try them on yourself at home. Gilbert whitening doesn't use lights so that the teeth would not become dehydrated. Lights and lasers will certainly make teeth look much whiter early on. The problem is the teeth regain their moisture within three to seven days. Once that happens, they will once again be discolored.

When whitening at home, you need to do it two times a day with one hour for each session. You should, however, not do anything overnight. If Gilbert whitening is also taking place at the clinic, you will find that some shade of white you had before will come back after about six months. Because you will be doing more whitening at home rather than at the dental office, there is a real need for you to sacrifice a certain number of hours a day to your teeth so that you increase the chances of your teeth returning to the desired shade of white.

The dentist you see should have a thorough knowledge of Gilbert whitening. It is the best way to get back the original shade of white that you adore. In addition, a Gilbert dentist would have several tooth whitening methods so no doubt they have the one that is right for you.
