Things often occur as a natural phenomenon or by accident. In a dental perspective, someone's teeth may have flaws in it. That flaw could be discoloration of the teeth, teeth that are broken or chipped, or teeth becoming crooked or in an awkward position possibly because of an empty gap where once a lost tooth had been. In addition, there are certain types of drugs that are known to have a negative effect on the tooth's enamel and make it thinner. Much grinding and gnashing of teeth is also a factor in damaged teeth. Gilbert dentist Fotolia_2984902_XS.jpg

If you are plagued with any of these issues, your dentist would almost certainly ask you to get veneers. There are two types of Gilbert dental veneers. One type is less than a millimeter in width, as well as the usual kind which the majority of people know about. The one you get depends on your situation.

To create enough room for the veneers to fit, a bit of your tooth material will have to be filed down. Apart from tooth matter, you may lose some gum tissue as well. The dentist does this so your smile won't be dominated by your gums. The Gilbert dentist will never remove more healthy tooth material than is necessary. This way the natural tooth remains strong. And at any time, you can ask for the Gilbert dental veneers to be taken out. Prior to sitting in the chair, consult the dentist about the amount of tooth matter he wants to file away. If the dentist scrapes off too much tooth matter, or conversely, doesn't remove any, there is a good chance that you are not getting Gilbert dental veneers. Also, he probably wouldn't be a Gilbert dentist.

You don't need many visits for your Gilbert veneers. Mostly likely, it normally consists of two separate appointments. The first appointment involves ground work. The dentist would take a few measurements, your teeth would be prepped correctly and some temporary veneers would be installed in your mouth. You are then able to see if the veneers are the right size for you as well as give your ideas on color, length and shape. The veneers can be adjusted in the temporary phase. This information is what is used by the lab team to manufacture your permanent veneers. You will then be asked to come for a second appointment, during which time your permanent veneers will be installed.
