If you have problems with your teeth, it doesn't mean you have neglected them. Sometimes, teeth get worn because of daily habits. Drinking coffee, for example, or other caffeine-heavy drinks such as tea would cover your teeth with yellow stains. Regular brushing will not make it go away. Even if you try whitening you may not be able to clear away the stains that are left. To gain better results, a dentist would fit you with veneers — also called porcelain veneers. Veneers do more than just cover flawed teeth. They are also excellent substitutes for braces. In addition, they are good for plugging in the gaps between teeth. The best part is they can be used in a cosmetic way by modifying the way your teeth look. We have two categories of Gilbert dental veneers. The first is extremely thin, as thin as a contact lens and there is the regular type as well. Different situations call for different veneers so you are fitted with the kind of veneer that you require.

Veneers are placed over your teeth to cover flaws. But it also involves much preparation work. We would shave off a portion of your original teeth material to match the shape of the veneers that we are going to put on. Some gum tissue would also probably be taken away so there won't be too much gum showing when you smile. In actual fact, much care is taken when prepping your teeth for the veneers. The Gilbert dentist removes very little healthy tooth material. The original teeth will stay strong and solid in your mouth and you are able to slip off the Gilbert veneers at any point in time.

The whole thing takes two visits. Initially, we would size up your teeth so we know what we are dealing with. Then, we make sure your teeth are prepared properly. After that temporary veneers are constructed. You can test out the veneers and provide feedback as to your preferred colors and size. The details are then given to the lab team who straight away get to work on your veneers. Sometime later, you will be invited for another appointment during which the permanent veneers are placed.

I laugh by what I hear sometimes. Dentists tell me about patients who do their best not to smile unless they have a set of veneers on. If you are not a dentist it is difficult to fathom. But it is true that many people don't smile because of their teeth. With a set of veneers, their personality changes and they become much more extroverted and confident. There are no longer any obstacles to prevent them from smiling.
