Gilbert Dental Implants - A Long-term Solution
Previous to putting in an implant for any of my patients, I examine their gums first. I have to guarantee that they are in good physical shape. If something isn't as it should be, we need to address that issue previous to installing the implant.
If you only have a minor issue, such as bleeding gums, I can give you a few pills that will take care of it. However, if you are missing a fair amount of your gum tissue, or if the jawbone has been extensively damaged, another dental procedure may be required before putting in the implants.
Occasionally, I will use bone prosthetics or other bone material to render the place where you will receive the Gilbert dental implant root all set to receive it. I always aim for a stable foundation before mounting an implant. I think of it like building a house. Your house isn't going to stand up for long unless the base is tough and won't disintegrate over time.
When the jaw is all ready to go, it's time to surgically attach the implant roots. One thing my patients observe when they come to my implant dentistry center in Gilbert is that I am very thorough, especially at this stage of our procedure. That's because the outcome of this phase will determine if the dental implant will remain in place for any period of time.
After we're finished, I have my patients come back periodically, so I can make sure that the jaw and tissues are going to reject the implant. Resonance frequency analysis, x-rays or palpation are just some of the methods used to check the implant. The results of that test will let us know if we can proceed to the next step of installing the crown attachment or if we should delay in order to strengthen the base more.
At my Gilbert dental implant office, I will be very thorough right out of the gate. I like to be sure that what I do and what you've paid for will not need replacing anytime soon.
