At our dental office in Gilbert, we do cosmetic dentistry. Our office is right next to Val Vista Lakes.

Generally, there are two paths you can go. The first one is called restorative dentistry. This is for when we fix your teeth so they go back to how they were originally meant to be so they feel normal, look normal and work like normal.

Cosmetic dentistry , however, is different in that it aims to help you have a better smile.

I would say that restorative dentistry is for when you are in pain and cosmetic work is to enhance your looks.

I'm not much for hard and fast labeling, though, and these are not totally accurate. You can have cosmetic treatment and it has a restorative aim as well. You may want to whiten your teeth, which is essentially classed as cosmetic dentistry. However, while whitening, we may also make them straight with the new Invisalign system, which will straighten your teeth but people will hardly notice you are wearing braces. You can now enjoy straighter teeth, which boosts your smile and looks and you are much healthier as well.

Our veneers are very thin so we don't remove much of your natural teeth. We can do changes to the shape, color and length of what you consider your natural teeth and you will see for yourself how much they can be improved even though nothing much has been done to your original teeth.

Now, take this photo of Peter Frampton. Maybe you never heard of him, but our Peter released an album many years ago that was among the most popular and listened to live albums ever released. The fact that 16 million people bought this album testifies to his popularity.

That was more than 30 years ago, in 1976, when you couldn't go anywhere and not be subjected to Frampton and his distinctive voice with songs from Frampton Comes Alive.

When I look at pictures of Frampton, I think he has good teeth and even though I have never been in his company or had him in my office, he looks like he may have had dental veneers.  Or these may be completely real teeth we are looking at. That's the point. You really can't tell the difference other than the fact that your teeth will look beautiful, straight and natural.

One thing to note is that it is not only celebrities and rock stars who have good teeth. Anyone can flash a wonderful smile with Gilbert dental veneers. It doesn't matter what your teeth look like now. Through cosmetic dentistry, they can look as white, straight and natural as you'd like!

It takes about two visits only to have your veneers. When you make your first trip, we do the prep work. On the next visit we put in the veneers. That's it! Two weeks to a perfect smile!
